Vector and scalar are known as quanties.
A scalar quantity is only important when in terms of a size, as in distance, speed, time, mass, etc.
A vector quantity is a quantity showing direction and magnitude. So in terms of velocity, accerelation, force, weight, displacement, etc.
And also magnitude is a size, or number.

the four forces
The four forces are...
Applied force: a applied force is a contact force and the abriviation is Fapp. This force is a push or pull that is called by you.
Gravitional force: a gravitional force is the only force that is a non contact force meaning there is no need for you or anything else to touch an object to make it move. So the object is attracting it self to two objects.
Normal force: Normal force is a object that just sits there but the force is pulling it usually to a flat surface.
Finally...
Tension force: tension force is a force that needs string or rope in order to make an object move.

Acceleration
Acceleration is a change in speed or direction! When driving a car if you were to say go around a corner and you had to speed up or slow down that would be acceleration. When driving and you stop at a stop light or stop sign what is acceleration because have to slow down in order to stop. Also when my dad gets mad at someone for beeping at him and speeds up which he is gaining acceleration.

Distance vs. Time Graphs
Today in class we had motion detectors and had to make a graph by moving towards it and back awax from it. The reason i think we need these graphs in science we will be learning about motion. So we would be able to see how everything is moving. And it will be a good visual.

Metric Units
Metric Units is a what scientists in America measure everything in. They don't use inches they use centimeters, meter, kilo, etc. Things seen now a days that are measures in metric units are,
One: A bottle of tonic is measured in Liters, well a big bottle would be 2 liters.
Two: A can of Tonic is 12 ounces is equal is 0.345 liters.
Three: A gallon of milk is obviously equal to a gallon but in liters is equal to 3.785 liters.
The reason for metric units, I think that when you use the metric system you can get a more accurate measurement than using units like inches and yards.

Estimated Distance
Estimated distance is not using the exact tools you need to measure a distance. So you have a vague idea of the distance. Estimated the front of my house is about 25 feet. Many people look at estimated distance as just looking with your eye and judging by what you see you can have an idea about how big it is.

Distracted Driving
Distracted driving is a very bad situation to be in when your the driver, a passenger, or you don't even have to be in car. One minute you could be in a car and the next you could be in the hospital or even worse the ground. If you are texting or talking on the phone or whatever you might being doing that might cause you to not be paying attention to what you should be doing you can think that you practically already have a foot the grave. Evidence shows that more then 500,000 people in 2013-2014 have been killed or injured by distracted drivers. I haven't been in a car with someone but once I did she a man, he was in the lane next to me and my grandmother and he had to be going 75 on the highway, in the rain, he was also texting and one second he was on the road and the next he wasn't he went right into the woods. It was a horrible sight to see. When me and my grandmother where driving he just whizzed right past us and I could tell he wasn't watching a thing he was doing. It was one of the most frightening things I had ever seen in my life. But I felt as though he could of stopped but he didn't. WHY? What people do now a days no one could ever figure out what could be going through the persons mind.
This is something to be very aware of while driving even if your not in the car with the person that is distracted you still have to be aware of your surroundings
